A Morbid Alphabet

Absent light

Broken bulbs

Can’t see a thing

Down these halls

Eroding flesh

Festering, loose

Girl swings by on a

Hangman’s noose

Innocense lost

Just isn’t fair

Killed when

Life kicked out her chair

Monsters hunt

Night bird caws

Opening wounds with

Pointed claws

Queen of shadows

Restless wreck

She can not fix a

Twisted neck

Ultimate pain

Vicious, mean

Washes over like an

X-ray beam

You used to laugh

You used to dance

You used to, now there’s

Zero chance.

  1. This is just a poem I wrote a long time ago when I wasn’t in a particularly good mood. It was a writing prompt exercise where you had to use the letters of the alphabet. I admit I know nothing about writing poetry. I just like when things rhyme.
